August 13th, 2016 the Vancouver Island chapter of the ROADMEN Car Club hosted their first annual ‘Grease, Gears and Grooves’. The Event, included a Show n’ Shine, Pin-Up Pageant, Live Music, Vendors and a Beer Garden.
The event was held at the Cowichan Exhibition grounds, which was a great location as there was ample space for settling in for the day then camping at night.
I decided to wear my new Red Collectif Dolores Top and Teal Rock Steady Pin-up Thrills Skirt that I had purchased from Hussy Boutique, at the last moment I remembered to grab my umbrella as our local temps were hot and I knew portable shade would be my friend.
We arrived late afternoon to the event just in time for the Pin- Up Pageant to start. All the contestants were gorgeous and did so well Dolled up as it was a VERY hot day..! Even Miss.Winny Wonderland was in attendance.. xx
I appreciated seeing other car clubs participating in the event, as they would have their rides parked together and all were parked with continuity that gave your eye a chance to always land on something favorable.
I have always been amused by the details..
We soon found ourselves hanging out close to the Vendors as they were set up in a great bank of shade.

We met some businesses that offered quality service and merchandise for sale.
We had a great time connecting with our friend, Neil Grocholski @Dirty Monkey Kustoms

The best part of the day for me was the live music, great talent and tunes were played by, The Hell Katz, Slim Sandy and Hank Angel.
I am excited to see how the show grows for next year and to return to meet up with familiar faces.
Thanks H. for all the great Captures of the day..
